The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

We have a permanent opportunity for a **Regional Communicable Diseases Development and Delivery Lead **working under the leadership of the Kaitātaki Health Protection, working with professional leaders and clinical partners to develop regional programmes of work.

The primary organisational impact of the position is to provide health protection leadership supporting the development and programme delivery for communicable disease aspects of health protection across the region, meeting the Service's performance expectations

**Mōu | About you**

You will be a strong leader and influencer with experience in health programme development, planning, performance reporting, machinery of government, cross-sector working and effective influence. You are able to lead change, innovation, capability development and quality improvement across a service and use sound judgement to develop options and provide advice.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Minimum 5 years programme, or project, development experience
- Demonstrated broad health protection or public health experience is highly desired
- Demonstrable experience in developing innovative ways of working and leading through others to achieving this
- Experience in leading change and/or service and quality improvement initiatives
