Permanent, Part-time Public Health Nurse based in Flaxmere/Hastings
64 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE)
If you are an experienced Registered Nurse who would enjoy the challenge of working in the community and schools with tamariki, rangatahi and their whanau then this could be the role for you We are looking for someone to join us as a Public Health Nurse, working with schools and communities in Flaxmere and Hastings.
As a Public Health Nurse you will provide public health nursing services in communities including at educational facilities; Early Childhood Education Centres, Te Kohanga Reo, primary, secondary and intermediate schools. You will be responsible for communicable disease management and follow up work, nurse led clinics at Hastings secondary schools and delivery of immunisation programmes in schools. There is a chance to really make a different as this role specifically addresses inequalities between Maori/Pacific children and other New Zealand children & young people, in relation to sexual health, skin infections, rheumatic fever and resulting heart disease.
This role would suit someone who has previous experience in community nursing with knowledge of child and adolescent health, sexual health and mental health.
