**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting Kaiwhakaako - Teaching Fellows for LAWS297 - Introduction to Legal Skills to join Te Kauhanganui Tātai Ture - Faculty of Law on a fixed-term, part-time basis.

Key responsibilities:

- Preparation for teaching in LAWS297.
- Attendance at any LAWS297 planning and moderation meetings, library training sessions, and CAD Introduction to Tutoring/Marking and Feedback Training as required.
- Preparation and delivery of weekly seminars.
- Marking two legal writing exercises, an advocacy report, and written and oral moot submissions in accordance with Faculty guidelines and within the timeframes specified by the Course Coordinator.
- Assisting with the scheduling of seminars and moots.
- Student consultation as necessary.
- Participation in the demonstration moot, as required.
- Providing feedback to students as to their progress in the course (and marking any resubmitted exercises).

**Ō pūmanawa - About you**

Key requirements:

- High level of academic achievement at LLB/LLB (Hons) level or higher.
- Expertise in the core legal skills of legal research, legal writing, legal analysis, and advocacy, particularly with a focus on these skills in an Aotearoa New Zealand setting.
- Demonstrated evidence of very strong oral and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with students and staff from a diverse range of backgrounds.
- Availability to run seminars during normal teaching periods.
