**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
We aim to reduce inequities, eliminating barriers to engagement, by enabling whānau Tino Rangatiratanga, Ōritetanga and Mana Motuhake as a true commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
To continue our important mahi the Caseloading Midwife will lead and support and awhi our new graduates and student midwives within a Tuākana Teina model. You will love growing and developing graduate midwives, teaching student midwives and be committed to the provision of high quality culturally appropriate care to wāhine, pēpē and whānau in the Auckland DHB region.
You will also be working within the multidisciplinary team to promote and facilitate Maori access to healthy lifestyle services to achieve best maternity outcome. Part of your focus in this role is identifying and supporting quality improvement processes by reviewing outcome data and working closely with the team and Associate Director of Midwifery (Māori Health and Equity) to achieve this.
**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**
To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following:
- Registered Midwife with current APC
- Working towards Post graduate in Midwifery and/or Maori Health is desirable
- The capability and emotional maturity to support a woman and her whanau through complex birth journey and focused on provision of high quality targeted maternity service for Māori
