Step into a dynamic role where your support will be instrumental in shaping Tāmaki Makaurau’s future. As an Agile Release Train (ART) Coordinator, you will be the backbone of seamless coordination, ensuring agile teams are aligned and empowered to deliver. You’ll facilitate key events, tackle challenges, and drive continuous improvement across the ART.
Your leadership behind the scenes will enable smooth execution, helping teams to overcome barriers and excel in their performance.
Key skills for an Agile Release Train (ART) Coordinator include strong leadership, communication, facilitation, and technical knowledge of Agile principles and SAFe. Also, need to excel in problem-solving, risk management, and continuous improvement, and foster collaboration among teams.
**What you’ll do**:
- Lead coordination of ART (Agile Release Train - a team of multiple agile teams) Planning, workshops, and leadership meetings.
- Work with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and stakeholders to keep teams aligned and on track.
- Remove delivery obstacles and ensure smooth cross-team collaboration.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to elevate team performance.
- Mentor teams on agile tools and project management practices.
- Evaluate potential problems and technical hitches and develop solutions.
- Assist the ART Leaders / Project Managers in the development of project management documents such as project budgets, project schedules, scope statements and project plans
- Participate in project design meetings and propose improvements if necessary
- Plan and manage team goals, project schedules and new information
- Coordinate the allocation of project resources to ensure the project team has what’s needed at the right time.
- Help project managers monitor project progress and team members’ performance and provide updates to project stakeholders
- Schedule stakeholder meetings, document and generate reports.
- Foster cross-team collaboration to help project team members complete project tasks and produce deliverables

**What you’ll bring**:
- A degree in business administration, project management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in an agile or tech-focused coordination role.
- Deep understanding of Agile practices (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
- Proficiency in tools like ADO, JIRA, Confluence, or Microsoft Project.
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- A proactive mindset, always seeking ways to improve and drive positive change.

A deep understanding of Agile methodologies and Lean principles is crucial.
- **SAFe Knowledge**:
Familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is essential, especially if the ART is using SAFe.
- **Technical Acumen**:
Understanding the technical aspects of the ART's work and being able to address technical issues.
Facilitation and Communication Skills:
- **Facilitation**: Leading and facilitating ART events like PI Planning, system demos, and Inspect and Adapt workshops.
- **Communication**: Effectively communicating with teams, leaders, and stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.
- **Conflict Management**: Resolving conflicts and disagreements within the ART.
