We are looking to continue that trend in NZ, working with some high-profile clients in South Taranaki. The renewables industry is growing, and we already have several offshore wind projects in our pipeline throughout Australia Asia Pacific.

If so, we have an opportunity for a talented and passionate Technical Director or Principal Marine Scientist to partner with our clients and spearhead our New Zealand offshore wind projects. You’ll be part of a deeply experienced, multi-disciplinary Australian Place & Environment team.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Reporting to the General Manager - Victoria and New Zealand you will be responsible for delivery of our existing portfolio of work, business development, project leadership, and commercial management of approvals and marine survey projects. Key to your success is collaborating with clients to get to the heart of their needs, and with RPS’ technical disciplines to craft and deliver solutions that solve our clients’ challenges.

**YOUR IMPACT**

**Leadership**
- Accountability for the profitability and performance of the practice area
- Manage a growing team of environment, marine, approvals and planning professionals
- Maintain a strong team culture and teamwork
- Driving staff engagement through access to career development opportunities, learning and development, work-life balance and authentic communication
- Managing effective performance management including annual reviews, feedback, discipline,
- Strategy & business development
- Drive continue growth in the team and lead local strategy
- Be part of the national strategic development initiatives

**Project leadership**
- Acting as a project director and/or project manager for major and strategic projects so that projects are delivered to budget and client satisfaction
- Leading proposal development
- Overseeing project delivery risk; including preparing and communicating treatments where required

**ABOUT YOU**

You will hold Tertiary qualifications in marine biology, marine science or related discipline with fifteen years’ professional experience.

You will also have:

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience with ESIA and IFC standards.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the Resource Management Act
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex marine infrastructure projects to client satisfaction, scope, budget and quality.
- Direct stakeholder management experience with affected communities.
