Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity As Revenue and Refunds Officer you will assist with all financial activities of the Revenue & Refunds team, ensuring the timely and accurate recognition of revenues collected, facilitation of payments to stakeholders, and supporting the resolution of customer transaction exceptions. You will showcase your financial and customer service skills supporting and advising external and internal customers across the Agency. You will be confident with improving processes, understanding the financial implications of transactions and being able to investigate and rectify transactions that have been have either been processed in error or where the transaction has failed. Ko koe tēnei | About you To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Working towards or attained a financial qualification; and/or experience in financial transaction and general ledger processing, banking and reconciliations
- Sound experience in analysing financial information and making decisions based on this analysis
- Extensive experience in reconciling large volume general ledger accounts to subsidiary/source data systems and rectifying any variances
- Proven experience with attention to detail and thoroughness of processing, recording, filing and retrieving information
- Experience with large financial management systems, SAP is desirable
- Proven problem solving skills, and ability to work effectively and efficiently to manage workloads and meet deadlines
You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector. Ko wai mātou | About us Our Investment and Finance team is responsible for Waka Kotahi's: financial management; performance reporting; business planning and investment frameworks. Our Teams comprise of:
- Financial management including planning, budgeting, insurance, and supporting systems
- Investment assurance and policy
- Financial operations including processing and revenue collection/refunds
- Organisational performance monitoring and reporting; and Funding and financing, including funding and cashflow management
