Production Team Leader

**Full time, permanent position**:

Meadow Mushrooms Ltd are looking for a Production Team Leader to join our site at Wilmers Road. Working closely with the Production Coordinator, this role involves a mix of labouring, as well as safe operation of Forklift and Front End Loader, whilst leading a team. Full training would be provided to the right person.

**The Opportunity**:

- Full time permanent position
- Monday - Friday (occasional weekend work may be required)
- 5.30am start (finish ranges between 3pm-5pm)
- Hornby location
- Working alongside the Production Coordinator to lead a team
- Full training provided for Forklift and Loader - previous experience is an advantage but not required
- Working predominantly outside in various weather conditions

**The Role**:

- Being a leader of the team to ensure achievement of daily operational tasks and KPI’s
- Supporting the team and leading by example to ensure health and safety, and food safety processes are always followed by the team
- Working with the team to support the preparation, filling, moving and disposal of compost used for growing mushrooms at our Wilmers Road site
- Effective operation of technical machinery
- General labouring work which also includes ensuring the operating equipment complies with hygiene standards by undertaking strict cleaning and sterilization procedures
- Ensuring the machinery and equipment you are operating is performing efficiently and highlighting any issues as they arise
- Coordinating and liaising with external contractors (e.g. transport industry)
- Hazard management
- As delegated by the Production Coordinator, perform daily maintenance checks on equipment and accurately complete required records
- Operating a loader and forklifts (after training is completed)
- Assisting with rostering and coordinating staff

- Willingness to learn with a positive attitude towards work
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrates adherence to health and safety, and food safety procedures
- Proactive with identifying and managing hazards and risk
- Self-motivated and able to work efficiently with mínimal supervision
- Happy to be flexible in undertaking operating and labouring duties as required
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labouring tasks
- Enjoys working outdoors
- Loader driving experience and a Forklift certificate from an OSH registered trainer would be a definite advantage but training for the right person will be provided
- **New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work Visa, and currently be residing in New Zealand**

**Key considerations**:

- This role is Monday-Friday, and there is a need for some flexibility around finish time
- This position is also required to work public holidays
