**What will you do?**

We have an exciting Christchurch based opportunity for an experienced Power BI Developer / Data Visualisation Specialist to join the Data and Analytics team at Ryman Healthcare. The purpose of this role will be to optimise the Power BI reporting platform and to design and develop rich, innovative and insightful reports and dashboards in Power BI. The successful applicant will also play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining the self-service analytical capability within the organisation.

You will be responsible for:
Owning the data visualisation space and driving best practice across the business in Power BI, our primary presentation layer, including:

- Designing and developing semantic models within Power BI to support reporting and visualization needs
- Contributing to the Power BI architecture design
- Playing a key role in developing and supporting the Power BI user community
- Monitoring and optimising the performance of Power BI reports and dashboards
- Ensuring adherence to governance principles and best practices for Power BI

Operating Power BI on a daily basis, including:

- Planning, designing, and implementing effective dashboards and visualisations to enhance and transform the business use of data
- Maintaining existing Power BI reports
- Performing ad-hoc data analysis and fulfil client data requests by crafting SQL queries

**Who are you?**
- You have experience with Power BI, covering analytics and report development, data model optimisation, and the tool administration side
- You have experience working in a business model with self-service analytical capabilities
- You have exceptional data visualisation skills
- You are an excellent communicator, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical people
- You have exceptional stakeholder management skills, including interacting with senior executives
- You are comfortable leading training sessions to upskill others
