**The Company**
My client is a large New Zealand company which is listed on the NZX. They have branches across the country and Australia and a market leader in their industry. They are an established business and have been operating for over 25 years. They are big on building long-term relationships and are a very big business with recent acquisitions.
**The Role**
The role of Credit Manager has arisen due to an impending retirement. The role is broad based from making being calls on whom the business transacts with through to being hands on when required. You will have complete autonomy to own your area. Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage the team of AR/CC of 2-3 staff, coaching, training and providing direction to the team.
- Liaise with the accounting team to effectively manage cashflow
- Build strong relationships with senior management and customers, including releasing and putting customers on stop credit
- Credit limit reviews
- Manage PPSR registrations
- Bad debt write off
- Initiating and managing legal action for debt recovery and any other matters pertaining to credit control
- Manage communication with liquidators, receivers and administrators and provide information as requested
- Contributing to the ongoing development of policies & procedures for credit control
- Continuous improvement on systems and processes
- Ensuring queries & disputes are responded to promptly and that the team resolve problems quickly.
- Monitoring and chasing overdue debt
- Receipting and allocation of customer payments
- Account reconciliations
- Debtor reporting to senior management
**Skills & Experience**
My client is looking for an experienced Credit Manager who has proven themselves previously to take full ownership of the area. You will be someone who is comfortable working autonomously with little supervision. Previous experience managing a team is a must. What will stand you in good stead to be successful in this role will be:
- Effective communication skills, both written & verbal with the ability to build effective relationships with senior management but also with those on the factory floors
- A proven ability to review & assess any potential risks of potential customers to this business
- Have worked in a multi-branch structure previously
- Experienced people manager
- Large company experience
- Ability to look at the big picture and be willing to be hands on when required.

This role is based in the office 5 days a week. Hours are 8-4.30pm generally.
