We're on the lookout for a **Liveable Spaces Manager** to lead the planning, development, and management of open spaces, cemeteries, township amenities, and community assets across Tairāwhiti.
This is your chance to drive positive change, enhance community pride, and deliver exceptional places and spaces for our community and visitors to enjoy. We're also looking for someone who can bring **clever thinking, innovation**, and a fresh perspective to make the most of the limited resources available in our region - someone who can truly **make our parks shine**
You will also recognise the importance of the role as a Treaty partner and how this underpins the work of Gisborne District Council.
**Ngā Mahi ngā Takohanga Matua rānei | Duties include**:
- Leading the development and implementation of key strategies, including the Community Facilities Strategy, Reserve Management Plans, and Masterplans.
- Overseeing asset management, business planning, and long-term planning processes.
- Preparing clear and informative reports for the Director of Liveable Communities and other key stakeholders.
- Managing staff work programmes and performance to ensure the efficient and effective allocation of resources.
- Creating a supportive team environment where everyone understands their role and contributes to the organisation's success.
- Networking with external organisations involved in parks, reserves, public amenities, and asset management to share best practices.
- Proactively establishing partnerships with community organisations to support complementary outcomes and community pride.
**Ngā Pūkenga me Ngā Wheako e Hiahia ana | Skills and experience required**:
- Tertiary qualification in the disciplines of parks and recreation management, aquatics service delivery, landscape architecture and/or urban development and/or business management and leadership
- A proven track record in managing public spaces, community assets, or related fields.
- Strong strategic planning skills and experience with asset management and business planning.
- Exceptional leadership and team development abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality services and fostering positive community relationships.
