The
Otolaryngology Department is located at the Christchurch
Hospital. Otolaryngology focus on the medical
and surgical treatment of hearing
loss, ear infections, balance disorders, ear noise (tinnitus), nerve pain, and
facial and cranial nerve disorders. They also manage congenital (birth)
disorders of the outer and inner ear. - Our Otolaryngology kapa (team) are a supportive high
achieving kapa (team), focused on serving the people of Canterbury and
improving health outcomes and efficiencies for all tūroro (patients) and
visitors who enter into our health system.
We are
looking for a highly organised and experienced Clinical Administrator/Booking Clerk to tautoko (support) our clinical bookings on a full time permanent basis to join our team.

In this

**role, you will be responsible for**:

- To

provide administrative support to the Department by managing the
clinical/general dictation and typing of the clinical notes and
transcribing letters.
- To
book pre-admission clinics and patient admissions
- Coordinate
operating lists and maintain the waiting list.
- Ensuring
all information is collated, tūroro (patients) records are complete and
managed
- Providing
excellent customer service
- Good

Your

**skills will include**:
Essential
- Accurate dictaphone typist skills and ability to understand and use medical terminology
- Demonstrated experience in a role
which required meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated experience in a role that
information principles
- Demonstrated experience in a role which
requires you to communicate effectively both in person and on the telephone
- in a courteous, helpful and compassionate manner
- Intermediate user of Microsoft
Office suite e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook etc. with the ability to develop and
learn new skills as new software programs and systems are introduced.
- Demonstrated organisational, time
management / prioritisation and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the
ability to prioritise being able to meet deadlines and work unsupervised
- Sense of humour, can-do attitude,
reliable - only need to ask once, good personality fit, persistent Desirable
- Knowledge of the Patient Management System,
Winscribe, Soprano, Scope and other current in-house computer systems
- Commitment to standards of
excellence and service improvement.
- Broad administrative experience in
a health-related field
- Ability to interpret multiple cultural accents
