Hamilton, New Zealand Hamilton Full time

**Where you’ll be working**:Mental Health and Addiction Services, Waikato Hospital

**The details**:Permanent - 40 Hours per week (1.0 FTE)

**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

We are seeking two suitably qualified Associate Charge Nurse Managers (ACNM) to join our adult acute and Puawai inpatient teams.

Maaori are significantly over represented across our service and you will need to have an understanding of inequity for Maaori. Being able to work with Maaori across all levels including taangata whaiora and whaanau, Maaori staff and the Kaitakawaenga team is essential to this role, so together we can achieve better outcomes for Maaori.

**Ward 41**

This role will work alongside the Ward 34 team, however predominately will provide the clinical support, ordination and expertise to the team on ward 41.

The initial kaupapa of ward 41 was to support some of our more long term taangata whaiora to reintegrate back into the community. Unfortunately due to COVID this ward has been used for a number of different purposes over the past 2 years; and we are wanting to revitalising the ward and the kaupapa which it was initially set up to deliver. This position will report directly to the CNM of ward 34.

**Puawai - Puna Maatai: Acute Forensic Ward**

This ward supports some of our most vulnerable and unwell taangata whaiora, whom can often present with significant risk and complex presentations. Taangata whaiora come to Puna Maatai either via the criminal Justice System or Te Ara Poutama (Corrections).

We a looking for a strong and resilient leader whom will be able to both support both tangata whaiora and their whaanau during an acute admission, however also lead a team with a focus on delivering excellent care with a focus on positive outcomes for those whom come into your care.

Be part of leading this change, alongside a great team of managers, clinical leaders and Maaori including our taangata whaiora and whaanau.

We are also actively involved in the Waikeria Mental Health and addiction Service and Build, which is an exciting opportunity to work alongside Ara Poutama, Mana Whenua and NGO’s to provide wrap around services primarily based at Waikeria Correctional facility.

**Mōu | About you**

A ‘you can do it’ attitude is vital in this fast paced and high activity environment. A ‘curiosity’ to enquire what will make a difference for an individual taangata whai ora and their whaanau, and a willingness to lead change to truly make a difference, are all essential skills you hold.

Your relationship management skills will be exceptional and you will have a proven track record of being able to bring people together to improve health outcomes and reduce maori inequity.

You will be motivated to achieve great results, have the ability to make tough decisions when necessary, as well as display initiative and resourcefulness that will allow you to navigate the variety of challenges you could face
