Are you interested in policy work that has an impact and will make a difference to New Zealanders? We need two Senior Policy Analysts to join the Gambling and Racing policy team. As part of the Gambling and Racing team in the Policy Group here at Te Tari Taiwhenua, the Department of Internal Affairs, you will have the opportunity to contribute to supporting the safety, wellbeing and success of New Zealand communities, and provide advice and support to our Ministers in Government.
As a Senior Policy Analyst at Te Tari Taiwhenua you will lead, deliver and support evidence-based advice for minsters and senior leaders in the public service.
You will be working at the senior level already or be an ambitious analyst who is ready to take the next step in your career.
You will be an analytical thinker, someone who enjoys creative problem solving and sees the bigger picture when it comes to policy issues and opportunities.
You will have a relevant degree that demonstrates your critical thinking.
You will enjoy supporting analysts to navigate policy processes so that they are successful. you are ready to share your experiences as a mentor for more junior members of the team.
You may have some experience in legislative processes, this will be an advantage.
Community and stakeholder engagement is a big part of what we do. You will need strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
