Timaru District is a thriving and innovative community. The Timaru District encompasses an area of approximately 2,600km2 of diverse landscape, including the communities of Timaru, Pleasant Point, Temuka and Geraldine. Serving a growing population of 48,400 people, the Council is stable and robust with annual Group revenues of over $80m, assets of $850m, and a total of 268 FTE staff.

With a large capital programme in place, Council has a vision of _“going places”_ and the Mayor and Councillors are looking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer who will lead their team with vision and a passion to do the absolute best for the region’s people, communities and economy.

A passion for leading people and inspiring teams to thrive in their work is important, as is a commitment to leading continuous improvement and transformational change. Having confidence and experience when presenting to boards/council/community groups will be important to success.
