We are looking for our next **Senior Payroll Officer **(Internally referred to as Senior Payroll Analyst) to join our Payroll Team, reporting to our Payroll Operations Lead. You will be responsible for our New Zealand business’s payroll with a strong focus on compliance and governance. You will work closely with various Finance and People & Culture stakeholders across a range of payroll activities, providing an excellent opportunity to develop your soft skills and technical knowledge.** **The role is hybrid, which means you’ll have the flexibility to work from the office and from home.
**A day in the life**
- End-to-end processing of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll cycles
- Troubleshoot system issues, share solutions and provide coaching to assist wider team****:
- Calculate and process terminations, redundancies and leave reconciliations****:
- Lead initiatives for year-end activities and ensure all legislative changes are addressed
- Drive annual review process and enterprise agreement increases
- Deliver payroll obligations such as IRD, KiwiSaver, AMP Super and third party payments****:
- Ensure awards, agreements and policies are interpreted correctly and reflected in our payroll system and processes****:
- Investigate and action ServiceNow requests within agreed timeframes****:
- Collaborate with the People Operations, Data and Systems teams****:
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and help implement them.**
**What you’ll bring**
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- A challenger mindset, always on the lookout for ways to improve processes
- A strong understanding of NZ payroll-related legislation is crucial
- 5-10 years’ payroll processing experience in a large corporate environment
- Knowledge of SAP ECP would be an advantage.
