As the Payroll Officer, you will have excellent attention to detail, ensuring precise processing of payroll transactions and strict adherence to regulatory standards. Your proficiency in payroll systems and strong analytical skills enable accurate calculation of earnings, deductions, and benefits. You excel in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines within a dynamic environment, guaranteeing timely completion of payrolls and providing efficient support to employees with payroll inquiries.
**About the role**:
Join our team as a dedicated Payroll Administrator responsible for inputting and adjusting payroll data according to time sheets, leave requests, and statutory/voluntary deductions. You will ensure strict adherence to employment contract conditions and legal requirements, including the accurate preparation and administration of PAYE payday filing. Your role will involve proactive management of outstanding timesheets, preparation of end-to-end payroll, and maintaining precise employee records. Additionally, you will be completing some project work including looking into the integration between internal systems. Ensure compliance with payroll-related tax filings, local compensation renewals, injury management policies, and other regulatory obligations. Conduct regular audits of payroll data and lead local payroll process improvements to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Role Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ payroll experience in NZ payroll
- Understanding statutory return requirements and payroll legislation
- Past experience with software integrations
- Intermediate level of computer literacy in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to use initiative, be self-motivated and work unsupervised
- Ability to work flexibly with a wide variety of people
