Fibre Optics/telecom Technician

**A Fibre Optics/Telecom Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fibre optic and telecom equipment and systems. The job involves working with a variety of equipment, such as fibre optic cables, transmission equipment, and switches.**
**Some of the key responsibilities of a Fibre Optics/Telecom Technician may include**:
**Installing, testing, and maintaining fibre optic and telecom systems and equipment.**
**Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to fibre optic and telecom systems and equipment.**
**Conducting regular inspections of equipment and systems to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance.**
**Diagnosing and repairing faults in fibre optic and telecom equipment and systems.**
**Installing and configuring telecom hardware and software, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.**
**Collaborating with other technicians develop solutions for complex technical problems.**
**Documenting all maintenance and repair work performed, including the use of specialized testing and diagnostic tools.**
**Salary**: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Whangarei, Northland: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
**Education**:
- NCEA Level 1 - 3 (preferred)
**Experience**:
- As fibre optics techncian: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Diploma in Telecommunications (preferred)
