Rostered and rotating shifts

Behind every service onsite is a team of people quietly going about their business making things tick In our region, one of those is our team of Health Care Assistants.

As a Health Care Assistant, you'll work within our team of skilled clinical and non-clinical staff who provide quality, comprehensive services ensuring our patients and their whanau are well cared for.

You’ll work in our Special Care Baby Unit and children’s ward and wider paediatric Service. It’s a really diverse role which will see you undertake general housekeeping in the unit and ward, maintenance of technical and clinical equipment, provide clerical support and other tasks delegated to you by the Registered Nurses.

While ideally, you’ll have hospital experience, we’ll ensure your given thorough orientation and support. You’ll work under direction and delegation of clinical staff and develop a wide range of skills and experience.

To be successful in this role you'll need:

- Experience caring for people in a similar role
- A passion for working with babies and children with a whānau focus
- Proven customer service experience
- A genuine desire to help and support others
- New Zealand Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 3)
- The ability to work all shifts
