**The Position**:
Wavelength International is searching for a General Surgeon for a permanent full-time position (1.0 FTE) with and on call requirement of 1 in 3. You will be one of three General Surgeons in a unit providing comprehensive services for patients in the region.

**The Hospital**:
The District Health Board provides services for a population of around 40, 880 including 24-hours acute and elective care in general and orthopaedic surgery, medicine, O&G, ophthalmology, psychiatry, and paediatrics. The hospital operates both public and private theatre sessions covering General Surgery, Anaesthetics, Orthopaedics, Urology, Endoscopy, Gynaecology, and Obstetrics, as well as Ophthalmic and ENT.

**Essential Criteria**:
Applicants must be eligible for Vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council.

Upper and lower GI endoscopy is a required skill.

The DHB requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This includes the booster dose within six months of receiving the second dose of initial vaccination (for some people the initial vaccination will have comprised of three doses).
