**About this opportunity**
The role of the QSE Managers position is to provide tools, guidance, and oversight to lead the implementation of the group QSE management systems; to to promote cultural maturity as we move beyond compliance to resilience, whilst ensuring our people get home safe every day
As a member of the Site Leadership Team, the position is primarily expected to coach our site leadership, provide good practice advice, engage with teams and provide hands-on support to develop tools and resources to support our people to go home safely every day.
The secondary objective is to provide connection between the site and group level activities, to champion and monitor implementation of the Group HSE System policies, procedures, and tools.
The position will also be responsible for providing oversight of critical incidents and supporting the site with incident response, investigation, including ICAM causation analysis and corrective action review.
**Your areas of responsibility**:
This role is also responsible for promoting health and safety knowledge and initiatives to employees.
There is a commitment to accurate and timely recording, reporting and follow-up of workplace hazard reports, incidents and injuries.
Your main areas of accountability will be:

- Implement, manage, and monitor Group HSE and Quality systems
- Promote mature health and safety and food safety cultures
- Chair the site HSE Committee for worker engagement, representation, and participation
- Chair the site Food Safety Committee for continuous improvement of the FSSC 22000 Food Safety Certification programme
- Conduct and document risk assessments and the development of SOPs
- Lead contractor management including the reviewing of JSEAs and Permits
- Internal audits of our safety and food safety systems
- Lead internal and external second and third-party food safety audits including liaising with the FSSC 22000 Certification Body.

About You*
**Your skills and experience**:

- Experience managing health and safety, quality and food safety systems in a manufacturing and food safety environment, including ISO and PDCA management systems
- Occupational Health and Safety Management qualification
- Accredited member of NZISM, Practitioner or above
- Working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and the Hazardous. substances Regulation, including compliance and regulatory processes.
- Injury Management experience including recovery at work processes
- Proven experience providing coaching and training to workers at all levels of the business
- Auditing experience and qualifications preferred
- Enjoys working in a multicultural workplace

Technical Competencies*
- Experience managing health and safety and quality/food safety systems in a manufacturing and food safety environment, including ISO and PDCA management systems
- Continuous improvement and change management experience
- Able to conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, develop SOPS and write reports
- Trained and experienced in ICAM investigation methodology and report writing
- Fully conversant in Microsoft Office Suite
