**About the Role**
- Inspect food establishments to ensure food is safely prepared and served.
- Address health complaints and ensure adherence to local laws and regulations.
- Perform inspections to maintain compliance with the Food Act 2014.
- Perform inspections to maintain compliance with the Health Act 1956.
- Work with stakeholders to raise public health awareness.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Identify health risks and recommend preventive actions.
- Reduce alcohol harm.
- Support the team by collecting drinking water samples in Whanganui.
**Qualifications and Skills**
- A National Diploma in Environmental Health Science (or equivalent, per Regulations 2 and 3 of Environmental Health Officers Qualifications Regulations 1993) or the ability/ willingness to obtain the required qualifications.
- Good knowledge of the Health Act 1956.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- A valid Class 1 New Zealand driver's license.
