Our client Tūwharetoa ki Kawerau Hauora are looking for a professional, organised, fit, Physical Activity and Nutrition Coordinator to join their team. Established in 1995, our client provides quality health, education and social services for all who reside within the rohe of Tuwharetoa Ki Kawerau and Eastern Bay of Plenty.

With a focus on realising Māori potential to help improve heath outcomes (and longevity), the key purpose of the role is improving the health and wellbeing of rangatahi Māori and their whānau.

Working with rangatahi and their whanau, the Rangatahi Physical Activity and Nutrition Coordinator will manage a rolling caseload, focusing on increasing levels of physical activity and encouraging better nutrition, to deliver better long-term health and well-being outcomes.

**Key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Develop and implement the rangitahi physical activity and nutrition programme
- Develop an overarching project plan, ensuring key funding deliverables are met
- Develop strong networks with external stakeholders, hapu, iwi, rangatahi groups, kura kaupapa Māori, health and sporting agencies
- Work collaboratively alongside the national training provider to develop and implement programmes
- Develop a calendar of physical activities, events, wananga and tournaments
- Programme development, evaluation and budget setting
- Providing education and health promotion to strengthen well-being
- Successfully implement strategies to improve long-term health outcomes for rangatahi Māori
- Working collaboratively with whānau and caregivers to empower and support rangatahi
- Completing reporting requirements
- Diploma in Sport and Recreation, Education or Social Work with the relevant Social or Youth Work qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in exercise and nutrition
- Proven ability to lead, coach and support a team of young people to achieve quality-based outcomes
- Have an in-depth understanding of how at risk whānau function
- Excellent negotiating and advocacy skills
- Strong relationship and network management
- A full, clean drivers licence
- Excellent communication skills
- A minimum of three years’ experience, in a similar role
- Knowledge of TKKH and the Eastern Bay of Plenty Communities
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent computer literacy skills, with proficiency in all Microsoft Office functions
- Positive, adaptable to change and able to set clear boundaries
- Role model, must be a non-smoker/vaper
- A good understanding of tikanga Māori is desirable
