Reporting to the Capital Projects Manager, you will play a leading role in developing and implementing our Operational Capital Investment strategy. We are entering a major phase of capital investment and have significant budget to spend wisely on new infrastructure and manufacturing equipment.
This role entails development, management and implementation of Vitaco’s capital investment projects. Annually, a capital projects plan will need to be approved for budget and implemented based on Vitaco’s yearly objectives. It will also entail development and implementation of an on-going 3-year capital investment strategic plan for Vitaco
This role will support all engineering aspects of Operational Capital Investment Projects from feasibility through to start-up for new equipment; processes, procedures, and systems; scoping/design, financial assessment and project handover/support. Span of works/projects will be varied and include process improvements, innovation, new processing lines, production facilities, and productivity/capacity improvements that will help support the growth of Vitaco both domestically and internationally.
In this role you will work with and lead teams to deliver Operational Capital Investment Projects with a high standard of process, services, and equipment reliability and ensure compliance with all required regulatory standards. You will display effective leadership with the ability to drive projects to completion as required.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Detailed scoping, design and costings for approval of Operational Capital Investment Projects
- Project Management of Operational Capital Investment Projects
- Installation and Commissioning of Operational Capital Projects
- Supporting identification and implementation of cost saving projects
- Development of good working relationships across the business and externally to facilitate the effective and efficient delivery of Operational Capital Investment Projects
- Contractor management including management of costs and standards of work
- Driving a strong culture of workplace health and safety awareness with high attention to detail
**Qualifications and Attributes required**:
- Professional engineering qualifications
- A minimum of 7 years’ engineering/engineering management experience in the, food or supplement industries or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in managing an engineering function within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of Quality Management, Health & Safety and other regulatory requirements
- A result oriented and continuous improvement mindset
- Well-developed interpersonal skills including outstanding communication skills and the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels within the organisation and externally
- Demonstrable success in leading and motivating teams of technical professionals and contract staff
- Demonstrable strong project management and leadership experience
- Good planning skills with the ability to prioritise, manage and track multiple tasks
- Strong reporting skills (planning, project, financial)
- Contract management experience
- A strong methodical and analytical approach to problem solving
