We are a major Reinforcing Company based in Taranaki, serving the Taranaki, Waikato, Manawatu, Taupo and Bay of Plenty districts.

With the growth in production and supply, we are seeking a Steel Fixing Supervisor to join our team.

To be considered for this role, the ideal applicant requires the following:

- Have at least 3 years’ work experience in steel fixing or relevant occupation,and with some experience on large infrastructure projects.
- Be able to lead a team of 5 to 6 fixers minimum
- Have sound communication skills
- Be able to deal with client enquiries
- Ability to perform within specific time frames
- Can work under pressure
- Travel to other regions if required
- Take pride in your work and a job well done
- Be PUNCTUAL and RELIABLE, open and honest
- Be able to work weekends when required
- Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and random testing
- Full NZ Drivers Licence or Equivalent
- Preferable - Current First Aid and Site Safe tickets

The job duties include:

- Directly manage and supervise a team of steel fixers to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently, accurately, and safely.
- Liaise with the clients, managers and the team members to ensure the goals are met
- Plan and allocate tasks, ensuring that the team works according to the project timeline and objectives. Coordinate the delivery of materials and tools required for tasks.
- Arrange and attend site meetings, be able to resolve issues and avoid conflict, have a proactive approach to clients requirements and satisfaction
- Ensure that the reinforcing steel is placed as per the structural and engineering drawings.Communicate any issues or discrepancies with design specifications to project managers or engineers.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure that the steel work is of high quality, complies with safety standards, and adheres to the specifications.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Provide on-site training to new or less experienced steel fixers, to improve their skills and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Address any technical issues that arise during the steel fixing process
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, work completed, any issues or changes on-site, ensuring proper documentation for future reference and reporting.

This is a long-term employment position with room to grow within a forward-thinking company and based in New Plymouth, Taranaki.

Minimum and Maximum Hourly Rate: $30

Hours Per Week: 30 hours minimum
