About The Role

The Cybersecurity Advisor is responsible for advising business and IT units in Information Security, so as to facilitate compliance with the organisation's information security policy, business requirements and target risk position.
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with the client and internal Consulting team assisting with the delivery of the client cybersecurity strategy, including the planning and implementation of cybersecurity activities which improves the client’s cybersecurity posture
- Assist with the analysis of customer environments against IT security best practice or standards such as NZISM, ISO27001 or NIST and identification of appropriate measures that can be undertaken to achieve best practice and compliance
- Assist in the development and the delivery of the information security awareness training program for client and Datacom personnel, as required
- Assist in the development of technical information materials and workshops on information security trends, threats, good practices and control mechanisms as appropriate
- Investigating, responding to, and reporting on, security incidents as directed
- Assist the clients in responding to internal and external audit assessments
- Providing cybersecurity advice to clients

About You
Along with your team, you will be considered the clients information security expert and as such your contribution to improving the information security of systems, providing input to ICT projects, assisting other security personnel, contributing to information security training and responding to information security incidents are a core aspect of your work.
You will ideally possess the following skills, experience and attributes
- Proven experience and a broad understanding of Cybersecurity Principals with a particular focus on either the Operational, Policy or Risk & Assurance aspect.
- Experience within a large complex organisation is ideal for this role, as is any experience within a Managed Services provider
- Strong knowledge of information security topics and an ability to provide advice for the information security steering committee, change management committee and other agency and inter-agency committees.
- A genuine passion for IT Security and maintaining an up to date security knowledge base comprising of a technical reference library, security advisories and alerts, information on information security trends and practices, and relevant laws, regulations, standards and guidelines.
