As part of the Organisational Assurance and Communications Group, they offer support and advice across Information Management, Security and Privacy domains. **Te tūranga | The role**

Your role as Principal Information Advisor - Security will be to provide thought leadership and expert advice related to Information Security underpinned by robust Enterprise Information Management. You will use your depth of experience in cybersecurity to contribute to the development and implementation of information security strategy and provide quality strategic and operational advice to improve enterprise systems and processes. MSD is currently undertaking a significant transformation that requires strong Information Security foundations, that will enable the Ministry to meet relevant legislative compliance and standards, increase its information maturity, manage enterprise information risks, and realise opportunities regarding the Ministry’s responsible use of information.

As a Principal Information Advisor - Security, you will work collaboratively and constructively with other team members and the wider business to ensure that fit-for-purpose business solutions are implemented in line with organisation strategic goals that responds to the evolving cybersecurity risk landscape and supports MSD to meet compliance obligations and relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.

- Expert knowledge in one or more of the Information Security domains.
- Thought leadership across the information security landscape to support the strategic direction of the Information Group
- Ability to provide professional and timely advice and assurance to the Ministry’s leadership team, managers and other stakeholders regarding proposed transformation activities.
- Broad experience in risk and assurance, particularly regarding Information Governance (including security and privacy).
- Thorough understanding of relevant statutes, rules, and regulations, including compliance obligations under the Privacy Act 2020, the Cybersecurity Strategy 2019, and ISO 27001.
- Capability to develop, maintain, and implement policies, standards, frameworks, guidance, training, and processes for the Information Group's functional activities.
- Collaboration and constructive working skills with other team members and the wider business as well as external partners.
