Join our pioneering team and launch your career to new heights

**ABOUT THE TEAM**:
Rocket Lab is a global leader in space exploration, and our NZ Direct Procurement team plays a crucial role in supporting our rapid growth. Our responsibilities include negotiating commercial contracts, managing supplier relationships, developing category strategies, and sourcing new parts to support R&D. We work closely with engineering, production, quality, legal, and finance teams to ensure seamless operations and innovation.

**THE CHALLENGE**:
Rocket Lab is expanding rapidly, and procurement is one of the key areas to support this growth. With the volume of suppliers in our ERP system, we need a robust system to categorize our supply base in terms of capability, product, and service offering. As a Supply Chain Management Intern, you will support NZ Direct Procurement in developing this system to better serve our engineering community.

**YOUR MISSION**:
As a Supply Chain Management Intern, you will be dedicated to learning our supplier landscape and understanding their capabilities and product offerings. Your key responsibilities will include:

- **Learning the Supplier Landscape**: Dive deep into our supplier base to understand their current capabilities and product offerings. Engage with suppliers to gather comprehensive information about their services.
- **Documenting Supplier Capabilities**: Document additional capabilities of suppliers that are not currently utilized by Rocket Lab. Maintain detailed records to ensure all potential supplier capabilities are captured.
- **Developing a Supplier Capability Matrix**: Create a complete supplier capability matrix that will be available for our engineers. Ensure the matrix is user-friendly and provides valuable insights for decision-making.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**:

- Current student enrolled in a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Supply Chain Management and Finance, or a related field such as Operations Management or Finance.
- Advanced analytical skills to assess and categorize supplier capabilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and document supplier capabilities effectively.
- Understanding of procurement and supply chain principles and practices.

**REQUIREMENT**:
Available to work full-time, on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning November 2025.

**WHAT TO EXPECT**

We're on a mission to unlock the potential of space to improve life on Earth, but that's not an easy task. It takes hard work, determination, relentless innovation, teamwork, grit, and an unwavering commitment to achieving what others often deem impossible. Our people out-think, out-work and out-pace. We pride ourselves on having each other's backs, checking our egos at the door, and rolling up our sleeves on all tasks big and small. We thrive under pressure, work to tight deadlines, and our focus is always on how we can deliver, rather than dwelling on the challenges that stand in the way.
