**Join Us at Te Rau Ora | Me mahi tahi tatou ki Te Rau Ora**
Te Rau Ora is a national centre dedicated to the health and wellbeing of people in Aotearoa. While we are unapologetically grounded in kaupapa Māori (Māori principles) and committed to the aspirations of whānau (families), hapū (sub-tribes), and iwi (tribes), our work welcomes and serves all communities across the motu (country).
Our mahi (work) spans Māori workforce development, mental health and addiction services, leadership training, and community-based innovation. Recognised nationally and internationally, Te Rau Ora is proud to lead pioneering work that uplifts Māori wellbeing while offering expertise, services, and solutions that can benefit everyone.
**About the Role**
Huarahi Ora is an interim service, national triage and bereavement support service for whānau affected by suspected suicide. At the heart of this service is the National Coordinator, a pivotal role responsible for weaving together national oversight and regional delivery.
You will:
- Lead the coordination of a 24/7 triage response service, ensuring timely triage and seamless referral pathways
- Ensure cultural and clinical safety is integrated at every point of care
- Work in partnership with a wide range internal and external stakeholders, including regional advisors, contact centres, governance groups and hauora Maori providers
- Help inform the future of suicide bereavement support in Aotearoa, contributing to the design of a sustainable, culturally grounded permanent structure.
Reporting to the He Whare Wahine Manager, this role offers the opportunity to lead with compassion, connect systems of care, and make a meaningful difference to whānau and others in some of their most vulnerable moments. This role sits at the intersection of leadership, service coordination, and whānau care. You’ll have the chance to be innovative in developing solutions from a mātauranga Māori perspective—and to contribute to a national kaupapa that truly matters.
**What You'll Bring**
- A tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Māori health, psychology, nursing, social work, or a related field
- At least 6 years' experience in relevant roles within hauora Māori, suicide prevention/postvention, crisis response, or trauma-informed care.
- A collaborative approach, excellent communication skills, and confidence in working with cross-sector partners
**Our Culture and Benefits**
- Kaupapa Māori-driven environment - Work in an organisation guided by tikanga and te ao Māori
- Hybrid working arrangements - Flexibility to support your work/life balance
- Support for wellbeing - Access to EAP services
**How to Apply**:
**Applications close on Friday, 6 June 2025.
