**Job Description** About the Role**
Are you passionate about overseeing dynamic infrastructure projects focusing on electrical systems? We seek an Electrical Project Engineer to lead critical capital upgrade projects that optimize the performance and sustainability of our facilities. In this role, you will be integral to the success of various strategic initiatives, from installing EV chargers' infrastructure to replacing gas generators and upgrading flare systems.
You will manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with industry standards. Additionally, your responsibilities will involve conducting research and overseeing the transition of innovative projects—such as solar systems, battery energy storage, and hydrogen plants—from conceptual research to full project realization.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead **capital upgrade projects** focusing on mechanical and electrical systems to improve reliability, energy efficiency, and performance.
- ** Manage contractors and consultants** for Electrical Infrastructure Projects, ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant systems.
- Oversee the **replacement and installation of gas generators** and **flare systems**, ensuring projects meet safety and environmental standards.
- ** Research and develop** strategic projects involving solar technology, battery energy storage, and hydrogen plants, guiding them from **research to project realization**.
- Ensure **compliance with regulatory standards** and prepare technical reports, timelines, and project documentation.
- Monitor **project progress**, ensuring safety, quality, and budgetary adherence.
- Provide **as-built drawings and maintenance manuals** upon project completion.
**Qualifications** Qualifications**
- Minimum **5 years of experience** in mechanical and electrical project management within infrastructure, energy systems, or similar commercial engineering works.
- Experience in **managing contractors and consultants** for large-scale electrical and mechanical installations.
- Strong understanding of **safety performance** and environmental regulations.
- Experience with **NZS 3910 (or similar)** contract administration and project cost management systems.
- Proficiency in **AutoCAD** or similar design software is preferred.
- ** Tertiary qualifications** in electrical engineering.
- Strong familiarity in **PLC programming & code-sys**.
- Knowledge in **fault tracing, and diagnostics** of electrical systems
- Proficiency in software tools like **AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other wiring diagram software** are advantageous.
