As a Project Engineer you will be directly responsible for the site plan, organising and coordinating the successful completion of allocated packages of works at site. This includes the management of physical and human resources, subcontractors and direct involvement in temporary works designs, managing the safety, quality, environmental, sustainability, time and budget requirements of the allocated works packages.
**What you’ll get in involved in**:
- Directly responsible for the preparation of safety, quality and environmental plans, including safe work method statements and construction method statements, ITPs, and purchasing plans
- Responsible for monitoring of works to ensure that they are carried out in line with designs, specifications and methodologies
- Monitor, track and assess subcontractor, supplier and plant dockets
- Compilation of incoming material certification records, ITPs and checklists
- Develop and maintain site registers
- Work with Site Supervisors & Management to update and maintain project programmes
- Manage procurement for the materials, plant & equipment onsite
- Assist Management with planning and engineering activities
- Preparation of weekly reporting, cost control and progress reports & tracking
**Skill and experience required**:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working underground as a Tunnel Engineer (or similar) on large scale, civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Experience with tunnel construction in hard and soft rock conditions, grouting and associated ground support techniques
- In-depth knowledge of pipejacking or TBM excavation techniques
- Compilation of QA/QC documentation and close out of quality packages
- Degree qualification in engineering, construction management or equivalent
- Proficient in MS Project and excel
- Positive and pro-active approach toward teamwork
- Sound planning and organisational skills
- Progressive thinking and robust project administration capabilities
- Strong, clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

**The Central Interceptor is a wastewater tunnel that will run between the Mangere Wastewater Treatment Plant and Grey Lynn. The 14.7 kilometers-long tunnel will run between 15 and 110 metres below ground. It will cross the Manukau Harbour at about 15 metres under the seabed. Along the route and will connect to the existing wastewater network, which will divert flows and overflows into the tunnel.**
