**He aha te mahi? What’s the role?**:
The purpose of this newly created role, is to take ownership of the New Zealand Entity Financial Accounting responsibilities (6 entities in total). This involves having a knowledge of business processes and activities to ensure transactions are correctly reported in the reporting entities by segment. You will need to ensure that good accounting practice is followed, and that month end is executed in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with international financial reporting standards. You will also be responsible for working with Group Tax related filings such as GST/FBT.

The core responsibilities of the role will include;
- In charge of the completion of monthly/year-end closing process to Income Statement and Balance Sheet for NZ Entities (excluding Group).
- Undertake month-end/year-end accounting activities, submit corrections & recharge journals, prepare accruals & prepayments, and participate in year-end disclosure reporting and IFRS questionnaires.
- Assist the completion of annual Group statutory accounts and other regulatory reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of corporate statutory accounts and tax returns.
- Perform fixed Assets management and control.
- Conduct full trial balance reviews including General Ledgers.
- Perform sales monitoring and report reconciliation.
- Perform monthly reconciliations, review and resolve issues.
- Submit correction and recharge journals.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts per the group processes.
- Assist with induction training on finance related areas to all new joiners in the region and document finance processes as shareable knowledge.
- Ensure master data set up of approvers, cost centres and account codes in accurate within the NZ entities working with Systems and Master Data team to deliver.

You will have highly developed technical accounting / finance skills, and will meet the following selection criteria:

- Fully qualified business degree with accounting major.
- Full membership of ICANZ or similar.
- Minimum of 4 years post qualification experience ideally combined with Chartered Accounting / Audit background and experience gained in a publicly listed company or multinational organisation.
- Computer literacy including SAP and Microsoft products.
