**He aha te mahi? What’s the role?**:
A newly created role in the Finance team, the External Reporting Lead will be responsible for managing and overseeing the external financial reporting and non-financial disclosures for our organization.
This position plays a critical role in delivering accurate and timely results and ensuring compliance with all reporting standards. This position is well suited to a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of reporting requirements and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
The core responsibilities of the role will include;
- Leading and managing the external financial reporting process for the organization, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Coordinating and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and compliance departments, to gather necessary information and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Overseeing the preparation of non-financial disclosures, including sustainability reports, corporate social responsibility reports, and other relevant disclosures, ensuring accurate and transparent reporting.
- Leading and supporting the team in delivering accurate and high-quality results, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to team members.
- Liaising with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, investors, and analysts, to address inquiries and provide transparent and accurate information.

You will have strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial and non-financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. You will also meet the following selection criteria:
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CA) is preferred.
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in external financial reporting and non-financial disclosures.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including IFRS and GAAP, and experience with relevant reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and reporting standards applicable to the industry in which the organization operates.
- Experience in managing the external reporting process from start to finish, including the preparation of financial statements and other relevant reports.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data accurately.
- Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
