Permanent part time and full time role, 32 hours a week and 40 hours a week

**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

The Transport Team supports the Canterbury District health Board facilities and looks after various car pools throughout Christchurch. The team looks after car parking, taxis and manages the CDHB fleet.

This Driver plays a very important part of safely transporting patients to and from the hospital and DHB carparks. You will be required to drive a 12 seat passenger van and therefore you should be able to effectively support patients getting into and out the van.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Transport patients to and from the hospital safely
- Assist patient in getting in and out of the van
- Maintain a safe environment
- Communicate with patients and their whānau
- Transport medical records
- Transport goods and parcels
- Conduct weekly maintenance vehicle checks

Your skills will include:

- Current and valid full drivers license
- Current P endorsement or the ability to obtain one
- High level of Patient confidentiality
- Ability to build solid relationships with others
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Time management skills
- First aid would be desirable

This Driver role requires you to work shifts, such as **weekdays between 6:15am and 8:30pm and weekends between 10:45am and 8:15pm**. To be successful in this role you must be available to work these shifts and on occasion, you may be requested to work more hours.
