**What you’ll do**

Sitting within our Information and Communication Technology Group (ICT), the Head of Portfolio Governance and Assurance will lead and manage ICT’s governance and assurance functions. You will be critical in ensuring the successful delivery of ICT initiatives by establishing robust governance frameworks, risk management practices and performance monitoring mechanisms.

You will work closely with stakeholders, executives and cross-functional teams to ensure project initiatives are executed efficiently, risks are mitigated and outcomes align with KiwiRail’s strategic goals. As a key point of contact and leader of the Team, you will drive customer-centricity, collaboration and continuous learning.

Key responsibilities include:

- Development and continuous improvement of governance frameworks and portfolio management processes that enable Agile engagement
- Overseeing and developing an integrated Quality Assurance practice
- Implementing and monitoring financial governance frameworks that support Agile resourcing
- Establishing portfolio performance metrics

**What you’ll need**

Proven experience in portfolio governance and assurance, ideally in an ICT environment within a transport and logistics sector, along with your strong leadership and influencing skills will ensure your success in this role. You will also bring:

- Extensive experience in risk management, compliance and financial oversight
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
