**Baker - Full Time**

Casa Sabrosa Limited is looking for an experienced **Baker** to join our growing Filipino food and production team in Newlands, Wellington. This role involves producing high-quality breads, pastries, empanadas, cookies, and specialty Filipino baked items for retail, wholesale, and weekend market operations.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Preparing and baking a wide variety, sweet pastries and desserts according to our recipes from scratch to our quality standards
- Follow daily production schedules for wholesale, market, and retail orders
- Operate bakery equipment (mixers, ovens, proofers, fryers) safely
- Maintain consistency in quality, taste, and appearance
- Follow Food Control Plan (FCP) and food safety protocols
- Assist with early-morning and weekend production when required
- Monitor ingredient stock levels and report shortages
- Support packing and preparation for market stalls and deliveries
- Collaborating with the kitchen team to develop new recipes and improve existing products.
- Assist in serving customers as required. Assisting in ensuring all appropriate cleaning takes place in the department.
- Using scales. graded containers, measures, weighs flour or other materials to make batters, doughs, fillings, or whipped cream.
- Receiving inwards goods

**Skills & Experience Needed**
- 1-2 years experience in a bakery or commercial food production environment
- Strong understanding of dough preparation, baking processes, and bread/pastry techniques
- Ability to work early mornings and in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work during holidays and weekends
- Ability to do broken schedule shifts
- Ability to work independently to the highest standards
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene
- Reliability, consistency, and strong attention to detail
- Experience with Filipino bakery items is an advantage but not required
- Strong empathy
- Outstanding communication skills
- A reliable, friendly and professional manner

**Hours of Work**

Full-time **40 hours per week**.
Early morning shifts, broken schedule and weekend work may be required depending on production and market schedules.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Pay**: $23.00 - $34.00 per hour

**Expected hours**: 40 hours per week
