Compliance Officer - Trucking Operations
Location: Wellington
We are seeking a Compliance Officer to ensure the smooth and compliant operation of our trucking assets across our company's branches. This role, based in Wellington, involves managing truck and asset maintenance, overseeing EROAD systems, and coordinating Health & Safety compliance. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll be an integral part of our logistics team.
**Responsibilities**:
- Organise and monitor truck maintenance, including tire replacement.
- Operate and monitor EROAD systems for compliance with legislation.
- Ensure daily prestart inspections of trucks.
- Install and maintain EROAD tags on company bins for effective monitoring.
- Oversee Health & Safety compliance for drivers and trucking assets.
- Coordinate accident-related paperwork and insurance processes.
- Schedule repairs for trucks involved in incidents.
- Drive trucks between yards or for servicing as needed.
- Offer advice on truck life cycles and assist with new asset procurement.
- Manage the Repairs and Maintenance budget for trucking assets.
- Coordinate Forklift servicing and repairs in collaboration with Yard Management.
Bin Tracking:
- Manage the Bin Tracking system.
- Implement improvements as identified.
- Generate reports from the system.
Load Outs:
- Participate in the roster for weighbridge operation during bulk steel load outs.
Weighbridge and Dispatch Support:
- Provide support to the Supplier Coordinator and Weighbridge Operator as required.
- Fill in on critical collections if needed.
Team:
- Collaborate within our team to ensure smooth business operations.
- Assist team members and provide cover as required.
Other tasks as requested to ensure effective business operation.
Key Competencies:
- Logistics & asset management experience.
- Clean full Class 5 driver’s license ideal, but Class 2 or 4 considered with relevant competencies.
- Self-resourcing and decisive.
- Clear communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, a self-starter who is honest and reliable.
- Clean criminal record.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Numerical accuracy, attention to detail, rapid problem-solving ability.
- Listening skills, approachable style, friendly attitude, maturity.
- Treat the business like their own.
- Creative and proficient with Microsoft Office.
Health & Safety:
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Report any hazards promptly.
- Actively participate in health & safety initiatives.
- Report logistics department-related health & safety issues.
