We are looking for an Intermediate Lawyer with a speciality in criminal advocacy to join our team in our Tauranga office. We are a collegial and professional office with around 12 legal and support staff working in a busy environment with variety and challenge. You will join an experienced and supportive team.
You will find challenge and satisfaction with the varied caseload, including high-profile cases and the opportunity for High Court trials and appearances. You will have colleagues around you whom you can learn from and who will support your development to the next level of your career and a comprehensive professional development programme. The work comes to the PDS via Legal Aid, and you will be supported by professional administrators.

He pūkenga tou/Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you must be passionate about criminal justice issues and:

- Have a PAL 2 or 3 approval level and be qualified to practice law in New Zealand
- Have confidence in your ability to develop credibility with judges, peers, and others in the legal community
- Enjoy sharing legal expertise, exchanging ideas and brainstorming
- Have empathy and the ability to relate to a wide range of people

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $80,473 and $105,089 based on skills and experience.
