Insights MSD is a group within Strategy & Insights with specific responsibility to develop and operate data and analytics capability, generate actionable insights, and provide tools to support decision making. The group's focus is supporting people to make better decisions to improve New Zealanders' lives, by making better use of data, information, and evidence.

**Mo te tunga / About the role**

The Survey Delivery Lead will provide survey leadership, oversee the contract management for the Growing Up in New Zealand Longitudinal Survey, and provide best practice survey advice and support to MSD's business groups in relation to survey design, contract management, and project reporting.

You will provide advice to support high quality commissioning of survey initiatives and projects and participate in the communities of practice to share knowledge, and develop and maintain good practice.

Key responsibilities include ensuring good contract management practices, such as keeping records of risks, variations, and decisions.

- Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in operational roles.
- Leadership in survey design and implementation is essential, with experience in longitudinal research being a bonus.
- Experience managing large survey projects and contracted research, especially in social research and evaluation, is an advantage.
- Strong relationship management skills with senior-level stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Excellent analytical and writing skills, with a proven ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Understanding of government processes, priorities, and machinery of government.
- Experience working in complex political environments and making informed decisions to coordinate and integrate projects.
- Financial literacy, including experience in costing options and using quantitative data to support recommendations.
- Up-to-date industry knowledge and a commitment to staying informed on relevant developments.
