Our client is looking for an experienced public law and/or commercial/corporate lawyer to join their in-house legal team to provide pragmatic advice on regulatory and compliance matters. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to do mahi that makes a difference to everyday people’s lives.

**The opportunity**

You will be part of a small team of senior lawyers who work collaboratively, providing advice on regulatory and compliance action - including investigations and complaints, and the implications for legislation and wider government and business initiatives.

This role will enable you the opportunity to contribute to cutting edge challenges, such as Māori data sovereignty and the impacts of artificial intelligence and cyber security on New Zealanders.

**About you**

You may be in private practice and want to make the transition across to an in-house legal role, or someone who has already made that move, but wanting to step up into a more senior position.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

- 3-5 years relevant PQE,
- a current NZ legal practicing certificate, or the ability to hold one
- Excellent statutory interpretation skills
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
