**_Permanent part-time (18 hours per week) position at Burwood Hospital._**

**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

We have an opportunity for an Allied Health Assistant to join us at Burwood Hospital as part of our wider Older Person’s Health and Rehabilitation Service.

This role is within an inpatient setting, working with people who have had significant mental health event and require a hospital stay. You will work closely with a team of Occupational Therapists and be part of a wider multidisciplinary team.

The position involves working closely Occupational Therapists in the smooth running of the service provision and delivery of activities within the ward setting.

You will bring a strong desire to be part of a team with an eagerness to be your best and be dedicated to continued learning and striving for the best patient outcomes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to follow directions are essential to your success for delivering treatment in a rehabilitation hospital environment. You will also have good basic computer skills.

Applicants who do not hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3) Health Assistance Strand from Careerforce will be required to enrol in this course if successful in being appointed, and supported through this certificate by the CDHB
