Supervisor

We are currently looking for a
**Road Maintenance Supervisor** to join the Higgins ‘Green’ team based in Kapiti.

**The role**:

- You will be actively involved in planning and supervising the safe and successful day to day activities of road maintenance crews - while continuously improving our service to build on the Higgins brand within the industry and the community.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Programming works arising from annual plans, network inspections, observations, and client and customer service requests.
- Supervising internal construction and maintenance crews and sub-contractors: including, but not limited to civil, paving, and concrete works.
- Investigating and resolving customer and client service requests.

**Key attributes**:

- Experience in civil construction and road maintenance (preferably to supervisor level)
- Familiarity with local authority or Waka Kotahi Road maintenance contracts
- Proven leadership skills - the ability to train and empower your staff
- Experience in cost management regarding material and labour requirements
- Self-motivation with a focus on quality and continuous improvement
- A strong focus on health and safety for yourself, your team, and the public
- Excellent communications skills both verbal and written and a person who can build long-standing relationships
- An eye for detail, a methodological and organised approach, and a commitment to service
- Full clean Class 1 New Zealand Driver’s License; Class 2 Wheels, tracks and rollers preferred
- Problem-solving skills in relation to road construction
- An excellent working knowledge of RAMM
