Jacobs are seeking a **Principal Civil Engineer - Roads and Highways** to join the team in any of our office locations (Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch). The role will directly report to the Section Leader - Roads & Highways. In this role, you will set clear direction regarding client focus and responsiveness and will help to ensure we can identify and anticipate client needs.

You will provide engineering, design/project management, verification skills and project leadership capability to our project teams. You will be managing Jacobs risk on proposals and projects by undertaking Project Management, Project Engineering, Designated Project Executive (DPE) and Design Manager roles. The role also provides technical leadership across the roads and civil projects, maintaining of existing client relationships and the development of new relationships and market opportunities.

**Here’s What You’ll Need**:

- Relevant engineering qualification (Ideally CPENG)
- Knowledge and understanding of appropriate standards and accepted practices from a consultancy or equivalent road agency
- Significant experience leading project teams on large projects in a design management role
- Thorough capacity to work well within a team and manage a team
- Good communication (written and oral) and presentation skills
- Ability to agilely engage in business development
