**Position**: Café Manager
**Location**: Napier, New Zealand
**Employment Type**: Permanent, Full-Time (35 hours per week)
**Pay Rate**: $30 - $32 per hour (depending on experience)

Our client is seeking a **motivated and experienced Café Manager** to lead operations at a busy hospitality venue in Napier. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to oversee both the daily café service and catering for a range of on-site events, from small meetings to large functions.

The café operates 7 days a week, so **flexibility to work weekends as part of a roster is essential**.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage daily café operations in line with direction from the Food and Beverage Manager
- Lead, supervise, and support café staff, including managing weekly rosters
- Assist with recruitment, staff onboarding, and training
- Ensure high standards in food and beverage preparation, presentation, and customer service
- Monitor inventory and stock levels, liaise with suppliers, and manage timely ordering
- Oversee cash handling, EFTPOS transactions, and financial reporting
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and health and safety compliance
- Promote a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative team environment

**What We’re Looking For**:

- A qualification in hospitality, or a **minimum of 2 years’ experience** in a café manager or relevant role
- Experience in high-volume or large-scale hospitality environments is an advantage
- Exposure to catering or event service is desirable
- A proactive and solutions-focused mindset with a drive to improve service and efficiency
- Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- A reliable, honest, and confident leader who values teamwork and communicates well
- A friendly personality with a sense of humour and passion for hospitality

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00
