**Mo te turanga | About the role**

The Planning and Performance team leads the delivery of fit for purpose accountability reports such as our Annual Report and ensures that the organisation is reporting on the impacts we are making on everyday New Zealanders. We also play a key role in supporting the organisation and providing senior leaders with advice on business planning, risk management, performance measurement, internal reporting to senior leadership, and coordinating responses to Ministerial/Parliamentary requests.

You will be a key member in providing support to the organisation, including senior leaders on performance measurement, risk, business planning and reporting to ensure alignment, delivery against objectives and consistent practices. Using your strong relationship management skills you'll effectively partner with other teams across the organisation to ensure our reports are of a high standard and align to Ministerial Expectations and Commissions objectives.

If you have the following skills and attributes, you could make a great Senior Performance Adviser:

- experience developing and enhancing accountability frameworks, processes, performance measurement and reporting within the public sector
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- ability to quickly understand complex processes and use critical thinking to drive creative solutions
- proven ability to plan, prioritise and organise your workload to ensure that deadlines are met, and work is delivered to an agreed standard
- sound knowledge and understanding of the Machinery of Government
- ability to gather, research and analyse complex information
- ability to influence without having direct authority
- a relevant tertiary qualification
