We are looking for 2x Heavy Truck Drivers to join our growing business at GURAM TRANSPORT LIMITED based in Auckland.

**To be successful in this role you will**:

- Possess or able to obtain a valid driver’s license (either New Zealand Class 4 or 5, or an equivalent from another country)
- Be physically fit as some heavy lifting is required.

**You may be responsible for the following tasks, including but not limited to**:

- Operate and drive the company's trucks.
- Conduct inspections on vehicles for mechanical issues and safety concerns and carry out general preventive maintenance.
- Strategize routes and adhere to delivery timelines.
- Record and track work and rest periods, driving distances, and maintain fuel and toll receipts.
- Maintain a logbook of your working hours.
- Adhere to truck driving regulations (including size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as company policies and procedures.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
- Gather and confirm delivery instructions.
- Immediately report any incidents, damages, or accidents to the designated authority.
- Perform daily vehicle checks, including monitoring oil, water, fuel, air pressure, safety equipment, road user charge license, hub odometer readings, and ensuring equipment security.
- Strategizing routes and meeting delivery deadlines.
- Weigh the truck both before and after loading.
- Oversee or assist in the loading and unloading of the truck.
- Verify the condition and securement of the load.
- Adhere to proper health and safety protocols.
- Maintain records of items carried and verify invoices for accuracy.
- Adhere to accident protocols.
- Refuel, clean, wash, and grease the vehicle, including the truck.
- Adhere to traffic regulations.
- Collecting and delivering items.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the employer.

**Other criteria**:

- You must have good communication skills.
- General English language ability is required.
- You must be able to follow instructions.

This position is full-time, with a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week. You may need to work 30 hours or more weekly.

The hourly rate is between $30.00-$32.00 per hour.

You may be required to work in the weekend.

You must have at **least 3 years' experience.**

You may be required to undergo random drug test if requested by the company.

You must have no criminal convictions.

Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
