**About the role**
As a Payment Kernel Expert you contribute to the team’s effort to build, maintain support and drive certification in payment software solutions & payment kernels with a commitment to delivering a quality solution on time and to agreed industry standards.

Your role will also involve
- Payment software, firmware and kernel development, maintenance & documentation
- Coordination and planning
- Communication and relationship management
- Mentoring
- Test plan development
- Development process and continuous improvement

**About you**
We are looking for someone with an innovative mindset, able to manage complexity, self-motivated and is driving for results with a strong customer focus. High attention to details, affinity for new technologies & excellent problem-solving skills would be a great asset. You will be part of a high performing team that are passionate about their job and work hard to get projects across the line.

Other requirements include:

- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Computer Science
- 10+ years of development experience - developing code using C
- Technical skills including high level understanding of software development, software test
- Problem investigation and resolution experience in a software environment
- Experience with Version Control Systems (Git)
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- No restrictions to travel
- Knowledge of retail systems (particularly in the petroleum industry)
- Knowledge of electronic payment systems and relevant security standards
- Experience in CI/CD pipeline development and technologies
- Experience in C++, Linux, Python, Java, Network Systems
- Experience being front line with customers (meetings, support matter discussions)

The following skills would be beneficial:

- Experience supporting payment systems (e.g. banking/finance industry)
