SH1 Papakura to Drury Stage 1B (Stage 1B) is part of a staged upgrade to improve SH1 and adjacent multi modal travel reliability, access, and safety. Stage 1B ties into Stage1A, NIMT Bridges, and completes a combined 6km of three laned SH1 in both directions, six new motorway bridges and multiple interfacing local roads, over motorway bridges, Shared User Paths (SUPs) and upgraded utilities.

What we need from you
You’ll work closely with the delivery teams to gain experience in managing traffic management activities and requirements across the project. This will include:
- Planning input including breach planning, risk assessment, TMP coordination for traffic closures on the motorway & local road network.
- Liaising with project team, onsite traffic management crews, subcontractors & RCA’s to develop an understanding of traffic management resource requirements and work programming.
- Assisting in planning and reviewing traffic management plans and operations.
- Project works coordination within traffic management closures to maximise the use of traffic closures.
- Being involved in the preparation and implementation of staging plans, traffic impact assessments, and traffic switches following the project programmed work.
- Assisting the traffic engineer and manager with short and long term closure requirements.
- Involvement in site traffic management and maintenance auditing contributing to a high quality and safe site.
- Assisting in reviewing onsite traffic management resources vs planned resources.
- Tracking daily cost’s vs forecast and budgets with reporting to the traffic engineer and manager.
Clear and open communication is key to the role; you will liaise with a range of stakeholders regarding traffic impacts, working closely with the traffic management Engineer to negotiate and mitigate the impact of closures to ensure the project is delivered with mínimal disruption.
- A recent Civil Engineering degree, diploma or previous relevant industry traffic management qualifications and experience.
- Basic knowledge of COPTTM is advantageous
- Ability to assess risk and a commitment to Health, Safety, and Wellbeing of our people
- Willingness to lead and be involved in toolbox talks to raise the profile of traffic management
- An ability to work night shift as and when required is essential
