**About the Role**
We are seeking an experienced **Senior Registered Nurse** ready to step into a pivotal **Team Leader role**. This exciting opportunity involves leading a small, dedicated team that coordinates the care of New Zealands heart and lung transplant patients, while also overseeing the operational and managerial aspects of the service.
This role combines clinical coordination with leadership responsibilities:
**Clinical & Coordination Duties**
- Communicate with multi-disciplinary teams of medical and allied staff at Te Toka Tumai and across Health New Zealand.
- Ensure patients and staff are educated in health management before, during, and after transplant.
- Lead and support the education portfolio, facilitating training and learning opportunities.
- Conduct clinics, hospital rounds, and manage high-pressure transplant coordination when operations are underway.
- Triage calls from patients and staff across the country, prioritising workload and adapting to changing demands.
**Managerial & Leadership Duties**
- **Rostering**: Develop and manage the 24/7 on-call roster to ensure service coverage.
- **Cost Centre Management**: Oversee budgets and financial accountability for the service.
- **Procurement Oversight**: Ensure resources, equipment, and supplies are managed effectively.
- **Recruitment**: Lead hiring processes to build and strengthen the team.
- **Day-to-Day Management**: Provide ongoing support, conduct 1:1 meetings, and deliver staff appraisals.
- Foster strong working relationships with management and peers, demonstrating the ability to influence and lead effectively.

**About you**
- Registered Nurse or Registered Comprehensive Nurse.
- Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in CTSU/Cardiology or Respiratory.
- Hold or working towards post-graduate studies.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in rostering, recruitment, and staff development.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to remain calm under pressure and anticipate challenges.
- Excellent communicator with superior relationship-building skills.
