**Eurofins Environment Testing Australia New Zealand **is an Environmental testing network of fully accredited laboratories. With a staff of over 200 our laboratories are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Auckland and Christchurch, with Client Service Offices located in Adelaide, Darwin, Newcastle and Wollongong. We also operate field sampling services out of Melbourne and Sydney. We specialise in all areas of Environmental analysis, including Contaminated Soil, Sludge, Sediments, Leachate, Soil Vapour, Trade Waste Effluents, Sewage Effluents, Stack Emissions, Work Place Air, Ambient Air, Dust, Drinking Water, Surface Water run off, River & Stream Monitoring, Seawater, and Groundwater.
**Job Description**:
An Instrument Chemist is responsible for the operation of particular analytical instruments, and for the production of acceptable results with verified QC protocols. Specific core duties include:
- Operation and maintenance of GC or ICP instrumentation (GC-FID, GC-MS, GC-MS/MS, ICP-MS) preferably all.
- Routine preparation and analysis of environmental samples
- Maintaining priority worklists and communicating appropriately
- Maintaining standards
- Maintaining quality controls
- Maintaining effective laboratory operations in regard to Quality and Safety
- Maintaining IANZ accreditation requirements
- Other duties as directed
**Qualifications**:
- IANZ KTP (Key Technical Personnel) mandatory
- BSc degree (chemistry) or equivalent mandatory
- Experience with GC or ICP instrument operation & trouble shooting mandatory
- Experience with Agilent instrumentation and software desirable
- Experience working in Environmental chemistry lab desirable
- Experience working in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory
- Familiar with NZ National Environmental Standards and US EPA methods
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Enthusiastic, self-starter
- Full working rights in New Zealand
